Our Evidence Tier
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) defines Tiers of Evidence to help educators identify programs with a proven impact. These range from Tier 1 (Strong Evidence), requiring at least one study with a randomized control trial, down to Tier 4 (Demonstrates a Rationale), which requires a well-defined logic model based on high-quality research.
Learning Lab currently meets the criteria for Tier 4: Demonstrates a Rationale. Our system's curriculum and interactive classroom components are built upon established learning science and pediatric developmental milestones. This provides a strong foundation for effective early childhood education through research-informed design.
While we are proud of our research-backed start, we are committed to continuous improvement. We have efficacy studies planned to rigorously evaluate learning outcomes in diverse classroom settings, with the goal of moving through the ESSA tiers as we collect more data from our interactive labs.

Learning Lab is fully compliant with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA). We recognize that protecting student information is a primary responsibility, especially in an interactive early-learning environment. Our platform is designed with robust security protocols that ensure direct control over educational records remains with the school or district, and we never share data with third parties for marketing or tracking purposes. In plain language, this means that every digital interaction, from animated adventures to artistic uploads, resides within a protected ecosystem that meets the highest federal standards for data protection. Parents and educators can trust that student data stays private, secure, and purely educational, allowing young learners to explore freely while keeping their personal information strictly confidential.
